Mr. Shobhan I. Diwanji, aged 69 years, has done his BA (Economics) from University of Bombay and MBA (Finance), University of Rochester, NY, USA.
Mr. Diwanji is an Independent Consultant since 1997. He was an advisor to a Norwegian Group for development and financing of renewable energy projects in India and the Middle East.
He was a Commercial Director of a technology team working on a pilot plant for enhanced oil recovery and a commercial plant production of high purity soda ash. He was also a Director on the Board of EnPro AS, a Norwegian Company.
He advised the major International Paris based bank Natixis on (i) trading of carbon credits under the UNFCCC regime and (ii) marketing and implementation of oil derivatives and equity finance transactions in India.
He was an Advisor to HSBC, India, various Indian and Internation companies/banks on corporate finance transactions, arranging collaborations/ alliances between companies in various industrial sectors.
He was a Director in Lazard India from 1988 to 1997, associated with capital market activities and Corporate banking advisory work in India for two major European Banks.
From 1980 to 1988, he was a Senior Consultant with Tata Economic Consultancy Services, Mumbai, marketing and execution of market surveys, techno-economic feasibility studies and macro-economic studies for multilateral financial institutions like World Bank, Asian Development Bank as well as Indian/multinational corporations and state government bodies.
He was also an Independent Director on the Board of Standard Industries Limited, Mumbai from 2005 to 2024 and Swan Energy Limited, Mumbai from 2014 to 2024.
